The second version of the model sheet, Painted up an looking nice. I removed his backpack for the convenience of the modeler whom will make the character and the backpack separately.
More to come.........
Here is the first painted up version of a character. This one was really to let me get the feel for what sort of colouring method I was going to use.
Not forgetting the commander character, He doesn't have a rotation yet, concentrating on one at a time, but in terms of development, here you can see variations on this costume. I will make him more natural looking in later drawings, not so ridged, but good enough to get an idea.
It's all about the Colour Scheme. The director wanted to have a lived in colour, one that looked like they hadn't had a shower in weeks. So I whacked up this colour scheme sheet to let him pick his fav.
Here we have a line work rotation model sheet of the soldier type, more developed with details of his steam/coal powered backpack.
Another attempt, with more success. The two on the left was the gensis of the characters I was going for, wiht elemnts of the one on the right as well. The top one was for the soldier type, bottom for the commander type.
Well, I've said that I'm designing some character for a game and here are a few examples of what I've been doing. The game is called 'Mist of Stagnation'. (check it out) It's a Modification game of Half Life 2, with a steampunk feel to it. It all looks very exciting. This first Image was to gauge the Directors reaction to what he briefed me, which was for 2 characters, a soldier type and a commander type. This is the first go at the soldier type which was rejected for his beefcake macho look.
