Work in Progress. Not to sure about it.
Here is an extended version of Space Station city. It includes a city, Highways, a mountain area as well as a lake district, dessert, beach and station display showing statistic of the day.
A little project i've set myself. I have based this task on a city in an orbiting space station. The space station has various elements to replicate earth environment. I will sketch up a larger version, however I am not normally a layout artist, so this is new ground for me. I will paint this section of the space station and see how it goes.

And he it is, The Final Image of my Insect Based Armour Design. I went for a more tribal look rather than armored army man, and I think it came out quite well, I didn't do the background in colour because its a character design competition and I didn't want to distract from the main event. He is slaying a big worm looking bug in this picture.
Here is the final basic coloured version of my Insect Based Armour Design. Now to put him in a scene otherwise he's floating in mid air

Basic Skin Tones Painted, I'll move onto the Armour/costume now.

Clean line.
Final rough character pose/ design.

Just poses sketches. I really like the crouching one but that doesn't really show off the character design much, so it might be a mix between the original concept and the air punching one.

Figuring the lighting
I'm leaning toward this design. Many others are using insects like Rhino beetles and tough looking insects, but if Insects have been the dominant species on the planet surely man would be more like a tribe, hence a tribal look rather than Warhammer meets Power Rangers?.
Plus furry pants are cool. He-man rocked the furry pants and so can my character.
New Character Challenge From Concept Art, The last one was pretty successful, Got into a poll of 40 Paintings. don't no my final position yet so in the mean time...Insect-based armor design.
The First two are probably unreadable, but believe me, Its a guy standing next to a dead giant Grub on the edge of a jungle scene with a termite kingdom in the far distance.

I think that should do it. Final version of Koschei The Immortal.

Character base colours complete. Now to add more detail.
Painting progression. Basic skin tones/textures and hair.

Here are the rough final design for Koschei. One is more cleaned up so as I know where to paint certain parts of clothing.
Trying to figure out how to pose him.
Closer to the final design, He has a skull mask instead of a skull for a head. I previously drew him as a thin old man thats skin was tight on his face to make him look more skull like, but I figured if he is an immortal, why would he be old looking? Trying a more Iggy Pop look now

Here are some thumbnails of a character I am designing for Conceptart.org's Character design of the week 13/09/10 til 19/09/10. I started late on this one, halfway through the week, so we will see if I complete this on time. The character is called Koschei, a slavic folk lour. He is an immortal that preys on young women. His name means 'Bone' or 'Bones' and he is evil . He also keeps his soul separate from his body, which means that no one can kill him by conventional means.

An illustration for my Little sister. She is a fan of The X-Men's Phoenix Character, so as a penniless student, I drew this for her as a Christmas present. This was early on in my painting skills, so not so refined but effective enough for my lil' sis to be impressed.
